Puerto Plata will welcome 29 cruise ships during the month of May 2026, according to the official calendar of the Ministry of Tourism, with 16 arrivals in Amber Cove and 13 at Taíno Bay.
This programming reaffirms the operational stability of the destination and the confidence of the main cruise lines, keeping Puerto Plata as one of the most active ports in the country in this segment.
The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, has highlighted the promotion of cruise tourism as an engine of economic development, while the head of the Tourist Office of Puerto Plata, Yokasta Almonte, pointed out that these arrivals continue to strengthen the value chain of the destination and benefit the different sectors linked to tourism activity.
Although the number of ships shows a decrease from previous months, it is important to realize that cruising is seasonal, and as we move towards the summer, the number of liners being offered by the main operators declines.
