The long-anticipated Amber Highway<\/b>, a project designed to connect the cities of Puerto Plata<\/b> and Santiago<\/b> in as little as 30 minutes<\/b>, has taken an important step toward becoming a reality. The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC)<\/b>, through the RD-Vial Trust<\/b>, has officially opened the public tender<\/b> for the design and construction of the roadway. This new route will link Santiago\u2019s Northern Bypass<\/b> with the Puerto Plata\u2013Sos\u00faa highway<\/b>, forming a key section of the Amber Highway corridor.<\/p>\n

Public Tender Details<\/b><\/h3>\n

Qualified bidders\u2014those registered in the State Supplier Registry (RPE)<\/b> under the General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP)<\/b>\u2014may obtain the tender\u2019s Terms and Conditions<\/b> starting Thursday. Documents are available through the RD-Vial Trust\u2019s Purchasing and Contracting Department, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or can be downloaded from the institution\u2019s official website.<\/p>\n

    Mileyka Brugal, president of the Puerto Plata Chamber of Commerce and Production<\/b>, recently emphasized the positive impact the Amber Highway will have on the \u201cAtlantic Bride\u201d<\/b> and the wider northern region. She noted that the project will complement the development of Punta Bergant\u00edn<\/b>, further strengthening economic and tourism growth in the province.<\/p>\n

    Brugal added that the highway will give Puerto Plata a significant competitive advantage<\/b>, meeting the growing demand for new experiences among cruise passengers. The improved connectivity will also position Santiago as a valuable allied destination<\/b>, while cruise arrivals continue through Amber Cove<\/b> and Ta\u00edno Bay<\/b>.<\/p>\n
