Why the need for a Job Board for Puerto Plata:
We have already reported that in Puerto Plata a revival is taking place in tourism. The first step was the construction of the Amber Cove Cruise Port and Taino Bay followed this. Both ports now receive thousands of cruise ship passengers who can enjoy the facilities of the City of Puerto Plata and the surrounding area.
Additionally, Puerto Plata welcomed 280,290 tourists via air travel, a substantial increase from the 2021 low of 87,559 visitors.
Punta Bergantín is the next major development now underway that will have a major impact on the Province. This tourist development of some 10 million square meters involves the construction of up to six five-star hotels, that will provide 4,500 rooms, with an additional 1,500 holiday units, 2,500 mixed-use units, and a Sea Village. It is anticipated that this will provide 20 thousand additional jobs, which is fantastic news for everyone living in the area.
Or it would be if there was an easy way for employers to find new staff and for people looking for jobs being able to know where there are vacancies for which they are qualified.
Go Puerto Plata is offering a solution to this problem by introducing a totally free Job Board on their website. This will cover the whole province including Cabarete, Sosua, and all other areas.
Employers with vacancies can advertise for employees by completing a simple online job description. This incorporates an equally simple job application that can be completed by anyone looking for work and meeting the criteria set out by the employer. A job seeker can also register on the site, complete a resume/CV, and be sent details of any new jobs advertised matching their profile.
This is a new feature available from the beginning of October. We understand it may take a while for both employers and potential employees to discover this option but we hope it will prove useful and beneficial.
